We are given a hint about a new Black Panther at the very end of the trailer when we see the costume and claws come out. But we are not shown who is wearing them.

Big Screen

On November 11, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will make its debut in theaters. It will be our first trip back to Wakanda since the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman. Letitia Wright had provided an explanation on how the sequel pays tribute to the departed actor back in May.

She mentioned that as a way to honor him, “we honoured him by devoting ourselves to the story that he started. The legacy that he started with this brand.” “And we simply resolved to provide our best effort at work each and every day, irrespective of the challenges that awaited us.”

In addition to having Wright reprise her role as Shuri, the sequel also welcomes back Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, and Winston Duke as M’Baku (reportedly in a larger role).

There will be no new Black Panther

Chadwick Boseman is schedule to reprise his role as T’Challa in the upcoming film. However he passed away in August 2020 at the age of 43 following a struggle with cancer that was kept quiet. The manner in which Marvel intends to react to his passing has not been made public at this time.

Also, the announcement that Disney and the writer-director of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Ryan Coogler, have no plans to replace Chadwick Boseman. The role of T’Challa is one of the most significant revelations that came out of Disney’s major content news dump for Investor Day 2020. Instead, they intend to “explore the realm of Wakanda,”. This is which almost certainly means that there will be additional Shuri!

Moreover, in the wake of Chadwick Boseman’s passing. The cast of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has left with an incomparably large void. On the other hand, Marvel will not attempt to digitally recreate the actor in the same way that Star Wars: Rogue One did with Peter Cushing.

There is only one Black Panther

Victoria Alonso, executive vice president of Marvel Studios. She quote as saying to the Argentinian website Clarin that “there’s only one Chadwick, and he’s not with us.” This quote obtains from Digital Spy. “Unfortunately, in real life, not just in fiction, our king has passed away. And we are taking some time to figure out how we can return to history. And what we can do to respect this chapter of what has happen to us that was so unexpected, so traumatic, and so dreadful, really.”

During the Disney Investor Day meeting in December 2020. Kevin Feige remarks, “I want to acknowledge the tragic loss of a beloved friend and a part of our Marvel Studios family.” “Chadwick Boseman was an extraordinarily great actor and an illuminating person who had an impact on all of our lives. Both personally and professionally. He passed away in 2016. His performance as T’Challa, the Black Panther, is so legendary. It transcends any other version of the character that has been present in any other medium from Marvel’s history. Because of this, we have decided that we will not be recasting the character.

Black Panther casts thoughts about the film without Chadwick

Martin Freeman (through Collider) and Letitia Wright (via Variety) are just two of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever cast members who have opened up about how difficult it was to film the movie without Chadwick Boseman. Both, however, indicate that the whole cast and crew were “dedicated” to honoring his legacy as T’Challa and the role he played in the film. Because of this, we are confident that the movie will be a moving yet lovely memorial to the star who passed away.

Also, even without its namesake, the cast of Black Panther 2 will comprise a large number of well-known characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

All of the actors who appeared in Black Panther in 2018 will be back for the sequel. Including Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, and Angela Bassett. A picture that appears to be a leak of Danai Gurira’s Okoye and Letitia Wright’s Shuri has just been publish on the internet. This picture, which was found by the Black Panther 2 News Twitter fan account (opens in new tab), reveals the characters’ new appearances in the upcoming sequel.

In the meanwhile, Winston Duke will reprise his role as M’Baku, and Freeman will reprise his role as Everett K. Ross. At long last, Isaach de Bankole, Danny Sapani, and Dorothy Steel make their way back to their roles as Elders of the various tribes of Wakanda.
